SPECTATOR INFORMATION - ALL FOR FREE
Subaru Rally Tasmania is committed to allowing the community to enjoy the this event for FREE.
FRIDAY NIGHT - 21 JUNE - INVERESK RALLY STAGE
Rallying is a spectacular sport, and this is your chance to get as close as you can, from the convenience of the Launceston CBD! Friday night sees Subaru Rally Tasmania get underway in the Inveresk Precinct.
5:00 PM - The Ceremonial Start. Each car will go over the start ramp before starting the first stage
5:05 PM - Inveresk Super Special at the Inveresk Roundhouse (Launceston Showgrounds).
It is rare to be able to see an entire rally stage, but this is one of those chances. Each car will take on two 900m sprints around the Roundhouse and surrounding car park.
The cars will also be parked up around the Roundhouse, with the opportunity to view each car, and talk to all of the drivers and co-drivers competing in the CAMS Australian Rally Championship!
SATURDAY - 22 JUNE - SPECTATOR POINT 1
Saturday sees the competitors take on forests on either side of the Sideling (A3 Tasman Hwy between Launceston and Scottsdale).
We have found an awesome viewing area in the bush which is accessible via smooth gravel roads (via Camden Hill Rd). The teams will be taking on the third and eighth stages of the event, a run around Mount Scott. This point will be approximately 8km into the stage, with a fast blast leading into the spectator point before they undertake a tight right hand junction before disappearing into the forest. With such a fast lead up to the point, you will be able to hear the fantastic sounds of the cars revving high!
In between, the cars will return to Inveresk to under go servicing at the Service Park. The mechanics will be frantically trying to change tyres, refuel the cars, make alterations to settings and fix any damage! All within 20 minutes!
STAGE 3 - MOUNT SCOTT 1 - 9am
SERVICE - INVERESK - 12pm
STAGE 8 - MOUNT SCOTT 2 - 2pm
SUNDAY - 23 JUNE - SPECTATOR POINTS 2 & 3 FINISH
NORTH RETREAT is approximately 20 minutes north of Lilydale. It is run twice, and is easily accessible from the township of Lebrina (you will not be able to access this site from Bridport Road). In fact, it is on the main Retreat Road! Cars will approach along a narrow forestry road before turning onto the wide and open Retreat Road, and accelerate away for 600m before turning back into the narrow forestry trails of the Retreat Forest.
LONESTAR RIDGE is accessible from the A3 Tasman Highway and through Patersonia, into the depth of Lisle Forest. You will be able to see the cars for a long time, with recent forestry activities opening up the area. The cars will appear on a long straight, before tackling a jump, and then a 90 degree right hand turn, before accelerating away up a long straight. This will be spectacular!
STAGE 13 - NORTH RETREAT 1 - 8.45am
STAGE 14 - LONESTAR RIDGE 1 - 9.36am
SERVICE - INVERESK - 11.20am
STAGE 16 - NORTH RETREAT 2 - 1.10pm
STAGE 17 - LONESTAR RIDGE 2 - 2.00pm
SUNDAY FINISH FROM 3:45PM at PEPPERS SILO HOTEL
All of the cars in the CAMS Australian Rally Championship and Dunlop-Motul Tasmanian Rally Championship will be finishing at Peppers Silo Hotel for the podium and champagne celebrations.
Hear all of the trials and tribulations from the event from the drivers and co-drivers, and check out the cars up and close for the last time.
This is a great opportunity to get photos and autographs with the heroes of the event!
